Some of these sunless and white “roughies” have some decent sex sleaze scenes in them, but not this collection. There is only one bdsm bit, which could have been quite good; a pneumatic blonde tied up topless (except the guy can’t figure out how to earn the bra off, no kidding), and a sadistic Olga type with a pair of vise grips and a hot needle . . . but it goes nowhere. And there’s one suggested belt scene that never gets started.

Other than that, you might like this if you’re a fan of zaftig 1950’s style women wearing hose and yards of underwear. But most of the action involves a lot of half-clothed orgy scenes on the floor (not very comfortable), maybe because they only had one bed in the hotel room they filmed it in, I instruct. One star sleaze rating, because you can give it a zero. Honest not distinguished here at all.
Joe Marzano had to deal with idiot producers while trying to invent two of these films. These movies are so abominable that i’m definite one of them will be made into an opera to debut at the Metropolitan Opera House next season. A “must” for lovers of abominable films.

A sizable demonstrate, which the Amazon reviewer should engage time to seek. Witty, hastily paced, thoroughly exciting. Apt the young couple are the least intriguing but the note is more hit than miss, like Russell’s sex life. It’s a winner.
Rules of Engagement is one of those comedies that arrive along once every ten years. I cannot remember a single episode that didn’t accomplish me laugh out loud. Spacious casting for each caracter and wonderful writing makes this a winner. Patrick Warburton has wonderful comedic timing. Bianca Kajlich is scary hot as well. Peer and like.

In one the the best remembered films of the thirties,Bette Davis gives beautifully modulated performance as Judith Traherne, the dying wealthy Long Island playgirl. Geraldine Fitzgerald is advantageous as Judith’s friend and secretary, Ann King,a character written especially for the movie. Humphrey Bogart plays Michael O’Leary, an Irish horse trainer with somewhat less conviction, although George Brent gives his finest performance as Dr. Frederick Steele (whom Judy eventually marries.) Ronald Reagan (in a role he reportedly despised) plays the faded, drunken Alex, one of Davis’s swains. Davis is pleasing throughout; her Judy is wild, horrible and cheeky in the beginning and her fantastic metamorphisis to a vibrantly contented and humbled young married woman is lively to scrutinize on film. Legendary columnist Hedda Hopper claimed Davis always gave her best performances when she was in worship and here it was apparent (the object of her affections was George Brent!) .The famed planting scene in the garden had to be re-shot many times; Davis felt such empathy for her character that she would be reduced to tears. Tallulah Bankhead flopped when she played Judith Traherne on stage in 1934. Highly recommended as a prime example of fair why people rave about this legendary first lady of the silver conceal!
“Sad Victory” is atypical for a Hollywood movie made in 1939 [or for that matter, for one made today] because it deals with terminal illness and it doesn’t have a gay ending. The medical profession aid then was less unprejudiced about the subject. A approved way was to thunder the patient that they were doing elegant, even when the prognosis was negative. This erroneous practice and other factors date the movie, but Bette Davis’ ravishing performance as Judith Traherne always has and always will clarify the movie. For that reason alone, it is serene eminently watchable.
Judith is a vivacious, carefree member of Long Island society. Her passions are parties, her friends and her horses. After being thrown from her common horse, she admits to her best friend, Ann [Geraldine Fitzgerald] that the cause of the accident was a sudden blurring of her vision. This, she admits, is not the first time she’s had this spot. After remarkable cajoling of the stubborn, tremulous Judith, Ann gets her to a specialist, Dr. Frederick Steel [George Brent], who diagnosis her as having a rare illness. An operation, which is unsuccessful, ensues, but the truth is withheld from Judith. During all this, patient and doctor tumble in fancy with each other. Both the illness and Steel’s well intended but deceitful method of dealing with it led to serious complications.
Fitzgerald is respectable as Ann, George Brent [a matinee idol in his time] is adequate, but Humphrey Bogart, whose stardom was sill several years away, is wasted as Michael, Judith’s horse trainer. His Irish accent is not at all generous. You’ll hardly scrutinize, though, because your thoughts and eyes will always be on Davis. She displays virtually every human emotion, seemingly without exertion. One of her tremendous scenes is the one in which Dr. Steele is examining her for the first time. Her mutter is colorful and contented as she makes light about her jam, but her eyes and hands are telling us something completely different – dismay to the point of anxiety.

Reams have been written about how difficult Davis was to work with. In “Black Victory”, one can survey fraction of the reason. She was so gifted that finding someone who could successfully play opposite her must have been a nearly impossible task. She made movies in which, I suspect, she was so excited and/or dismal that, consciously or not, she played a parody of herself. These movies created Davis the caricature. “Sunless Victory” is not one of them. Here, Davis brilliantly plays an ordinary woman dealing with her maintain mortality. Highly recommended for this reason alone.

Bits of this movie were permanently etched into mind since childhood, waiting to be triggered. I vividly acquire the opening sequence, the children’s first meditation and the giant headless mannequins. I can’t even remember where or when I first saw it but I recognized the images instantly.

This film resonates with me on a subconscious level. It’s entirely my style. It is the very definition of what I believe to be obliging entertainment, and may have even predetermined my interest in sci-fi.
Remember those frail UNICEF engaging shorts? This style of animation always caused an emotional response with me and I didn’t know why until I saw this film again so many years later.
I don’t catch the frontal nudity the first time I saw it, so I guess it was no large deal.

This brings you now to the begining of this sage of one domesticated Om named Ter who steels knowledge from the Traags and delivers it to the savage Oms. Although Ter is an Om…he is at first isolated in a hurry he has never known. But, it is he who helps to bring about change in this irregular world. And the mystery of Ygam’s only moom Astonishing Planet holds the key to the Traag’s raze.

I saw this film for the first time after a friend who had seen it in the theater in 1978 recommended it. I was prepared to gaze a children’s movie and was struck by the seriousness of the subject and the realistic scenes.
The film begins with the mythology of the rabbit which is rather exclusive but in a cute device. This introduction foreshadows the hardships and enemies the rabbit species will face. From there the anecdote seems to touch on at least two issues: fascism/Marxism and environmentalism. The latter is only briefly touched on. The runt rabbit Fiver, who has unexplained powers to foresee the future, urges a group of fellow rabbits in his “warren” to leave before their land is destroyed by some destructive force. Actually, it is man who tears up their fields, but it is only described briefly by a survivor. In their whisk to the splendid mountain top (utopia? ), they encounter several enemies and a laughable bird friend (my well-liked of the characters) . Once they come their destination, they realize that they have no females in their group (the only “doe” having been killed) and must return to hazardous territory to get mates. Their worst enemy, ironically, is a member of their occupy species; a fascist rabbit who threatens to have any dissenter from his warren killed. Also, ironically, inventions of man (i.e. a boat) are feeble by the rabbits in their struggle to survive. A musical segment with music sung by Art Garfunkel interrupts the fairly fast-moving chronicle.
The violence in this film is surprisingly realistic and graphic. Some rabbits do not get it, so very young children may need to be prepared before watching. I also looked at a VHS copy of this film, and DVD is far friendly in terms of graphics and color. The extras on this DVD were a minute disappointing considering that this film is a classic (i.e. a glossary of rabbit words that is not even complete) . Aloof, this absorbing film is one that adults may like more than the kids.
Like many of the reviewers before me I first watched this benefit when I was a child and yes it did provoke a range of emotions in me. I cheered when they escaped on the boat; I was sickened in the narrate of the fate of the first warren. I admit it 15 years on I smooth scream at the kill of the movie. Don’t be fooled into thinking unbiased because it’s and inviting feature about rabbits that this film will be advantageous for younger kids, it is NOT. Watership down has quite graphic representations of brutality and death. Putting those facts aside it does drawl a compelling account about a band of refugees looking for some space to resettle and live their lives out in peace. It fair happens that the refugees are rabbits.

This is a epic of survival. It is a faded tale told in a obtain have blueprint. It is told with an edge of realism that contradicts the candy coating of the animation and character species. I fair bought a copy of this so my wife and I could see it. Melanie (My wife) having not seen it before and not shining what to examine was left speechless when Violet was gone. If I were to rate the film I would give it at least a PG maybe even a PG 13 for its possible NIGHTMARES for younger children. I give the narrative 4 stars for being bewitching and well told

The movie Reefer Madness seen by itself is really nothing to brag about, but this special addition for this best-selling cult classic is extraordinary. It’s a must hold, because for how cheap it is, you really salvage your money’s worth. For the first time ever, I can say that the colorized version (complete with multicolor smoke and over saturated psychedelic color schemes) is better and looks better than the new sunless and white, and both versions are available to gaze which is considerate of the DVD producers to give us both, and it looks as friendly as we can ever demand. Extra features are astonishing highlighted by a hysterical commentary by Mike Nelson, formerly of Mystery Science Theater 3000, which is the sole reason why I bought this edition. The commentary by the people who colorized the film is also worth a gaze. I highly recommend this modern edition.
In the 70s, NORML spread the fable that the government sponsored Reefer Madness. The truth, however, is that the film was made to play the Exploitation circuit… and was made with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
Thelma White (Mae) has said that the cast was specifically asked to “hoke it up.” And the scene in which Ralph demands that the piano be played “Faster… Faster!” comes straight out of 42nd Street–a film in which actor Dave O’Brien (yes, Ralph himself) had played a chorus boy.
So, if the makers of this film weren’t serious about their message, why did they design the movie? Well, why did anybody effect an Exploitation film in the 30s? To prove more skin than the Hays Code allowed, of course, and to capitalize on public fears. Simply put: they wanted to beget money. And develop money they did.

Unlike most Exploitation fare, Reefer Madness was shot over a period of three weeks, on a relatively expansive budget (by sub-Poverty Row standards) . Using an experienced director and a couple of actors who would go on to do expedient work in Hollywood, this production is the creme-de-la-creme of 30’s Exploitation cinema.
Reefer Madness is every bit as hyperbolic as it was intended to be. Fair see it luminous that its makers are laughing at you, and you’ll realize that this film is perhaps one of the greatest jokes ever played on an audience in the history of cinema. It’s certainly one of the most enchanting.

This status fully completes my Gundam Seed anime series residence since I’ve already gotten the previous two box sets and the first Gundam Seed Destiny box residence which I’m truly ecstatic for since some of Bandai’s fresh choices of which sets to release and which to outright murder(Zegapain being one of them) . The series is hard to follow though if you’ve never seen the beginning of the GS universe and the stories of the characters so I’d screech watching the series from the very beginning to understand what is really going on, like most of the Gundam universe series this prove seems to mostly stress the enlighten stupidity and futility of wars. If you gape at the various fighting sides you’ll behold they all seem to have various and seemingly objective reasons for what they are doing and why they are fighting but in the kill shows how nothing will change with brute force and that it’s up to the people to willingly resolve to change the design things are without the threat or apprehension of oppression. The characters grow on you and you will scream as some are killed off through the series but that in itself is what makes a substantial series as you cheer, bawl, and feel for the characters as they continue on in the indicate. The swear cast for both the Japanese and English actors were good on for their roles and kudos to both, the video is definite and spicy and the music is mammoth both heart pacing and rapid very addictive as you peruse the battle scenes in the series. So I say for any mecha anime or sci-fi anime fan and for the ticket check out the series you’ll most likely be very entertained, and for fans of the gundam series rejoice as the final plot is finally out….
Gundam Seed Destiny, though received distinguished harsh criticism from fans and reviewers alike isn’t terrible by any means. If you’ve watched the series from the beginning of Seed your in trek for more of everything wonderful and abominable the series has offered and delivered. The continued assaults between Zaft and the Earth forces will arrive a satisfying conclusion but the fable won’t slay there. Fresh mobile suits near and change the course of the war. Kira and the Archangel crew will finally retract the top stage as the line between true and despicable blur, heroes retract the side of the imperfect and enemies from before become welcome allies for the kill. I won’t spoil the tale with detailed explanations though I do give a firm warning that the last episode has somewhat of a let down ending, objective as it doesn’t give a lot of closure. The movie Gundam Seed Destiny Final Plus is basically an extended version of the last episode with more action and account and is a great more satisfying ending. Overall if you’ve enjoyed the characters, gundams, battles, and triumphs that Seed has given you so far, you’ll adore this box region. If you’ve felt you’ve been dragged along for a plain pace that doesn’t suit your tastes, perhaps the 4 Destiny movies would be better as they give the anecdote without all the extra development and filler. Either draw Seed Destiny is definately a apt Gundam thrill.

This is one of two serials of the same name, the second being in 1945 with a different place and cast. “Secret X-9″ was a accepted comical strip of the day, based on characters created by the enormous writer of detective fiction Dashiell Hammett.

This was probably the best serial made as early as 1937 until William Witney came along at Republic Studios and raised the bar for the genre, and the best Universal serial until the 1940’s. It has the gaze and feel of a “precise” movie, not all stops and starts like so many other serials. It seems more like a typical mystery film of the 1930’s, what “Gang Busters” could have been, perhaps. With the action usually continuing proper on through the cliffhangers, it has a tight fable and is well acted, with endless switcheroos as to who has the jewels or the paper that will lead to them. The sets are very worthy, especially the waterfront scenes and the pirate ship in the harbor. The fights, which are fairly short though not well choreographed, are less distinguished than the place, a welcome change from most serials. Unfortunately the chapter endings are not very worthy, except for one which has a remarkably abominable cheat: Chapter 5 ends with X-9 being shot by a hidden gun in a bookcase–he clutches his stomach and keels over to the floor. In Chapter 6 the gunshot misses him completely and instead knicks his pal Pidge.
Scott Kolk had been a Broadway actor who went to Hollywood with the advent of sound. He became a Universal contract player, and was elevated to a title role for the first time in this serial. But stardom eluded him, and not even a name change to Scott Colton could do the trick; he left films in 1938.

Blond and pretty Jean Rogers (looking a cramped like Jean Harlow) is even more gorgeous as the well-dressed, enigmatic Shara Graustark than she was in her role a year earlier as the scantily-clad Dale Arden in “Flash Gordon,” although that was the role that made her a serial icon. Monte Blue is far better in the dual role of Baron Karsten, and the criminal known as Brenda disguised as Karsten, then he was when he chewed up the scenery in “Undersea Kingdom.” But Henry Brandon (“Drums of Fu Manchu”) steals the bad-guy honors as the master criminal known as Blackstone–it’s a shame he doesn’t acquire as grand cloak time as Blue does. Brandon was a handsome actor who separated himself from most other serial actors by underplaying his fragment. Makes you wonder why he never became more renowned.
I adore the chases in this because of the expansive 1930’s cars involved–beautiful passe automobiles. And I disapprove the wimpy ending.
Leonard J. Kohl, in his book “Base Serials” (2000), declared that this serial “is officially considered lost”. Well, thanks in tremendous allotment to the grand collector and preserver of aged radio shows and movies, Fred Shay, we now have a distinct, tidy print of this “lost” serial.
“Secret Agent X-9″ began as a newspaper laughable strip drawn by Alex Raymond, who had also created “Flash Gordon”. Although Dashiell Hammett was apparently hired to wait on with the state, he ended up contributing very exiguous. Too terrible, because this is one very wearisome serial. (Universal was unbiased not very reliable at producing effective stories for this very tricky genre.) The situation has to do with a mysterious jewel thief, the crown jewels of some imaginary country, examining paintings with a ray-beam way to get a bank receipt, boat chases, G-men, etc. It’s all rather ho-hum, if you ask me. However, the serial gains in historical significance distinguished of what it lacks in entertainment value, for one of the minor characters is a thug named Marconi who is played by none other than Lon Chaney, Jr. Two years after this serial was released, Chaney would relate Lennie in the movie and stage versions of Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men”, and he would go on to become a very accepted B-movie star who would also originate some valuable A-movies.
Each episode on this two-DVD residence begins with the serial’s titles and credits and, starting with episode 2, a comical strip that outlines what happened during the last episode. This is exactly the diagram serials were shown in theaters in the “venerable days”, and the plot they should be watched today.
Oh obvious, sometimes a scene or two is a bit sad, and the framing of the portray is not always perfect, and the crispness of a print made from the new nitrate negative may not be note, unruffled, all in all, this is a helpful version of a serial that is no longer “lost”.
A immense addition for anyone collecting archaic serials, but newcomers to this produce of entertainment may wish to originate with one made by Republic Pictures. Now THEY knew how to compose a serial!
