I appreciate the Simpsons. I am biased towards the early episodes. I even like the first season. I’m not bothered by the cruder animation or the fact that Homer’s squawk had not yet settled in to its eventual timbre. I like the early episodes, because attend then Springfield was a parody of any slight town or suburb in the United States. As the reveal went on, it became more and more obvious that Springfield was Hollywood. Celebrity pals of the producers started showing up in episodes to be shamelessly flattered, there were more and more in-jokes about the world of entertainment, and then Matt Groening started making cameos. It was a ticket of a decline. The present became too self-conscious, and eventually came around to be extra mean-spirited, meanness for the sake of meanness, as if that was the only the writers could note they were detached edgy. For the best of the Simpsons, I mediate the third and fourth seasons are it. There are some early signs of the impending journey towards mediocrity, such as the first Simpsons clip exhibit, and Krusty Gets Kancelled, an early example of nauseating kissing-up to celebrity guests. The extras don’t add a whole lot to this plot either. Like on the earlier seasons, the audio commentary can be enchanting but is mostly the amimators talking about the animation. If that is your interest, you might like it. I’m more involved in other aspects, such as the writing, myself. But I’m hard to satisfy, because I actually derive it disappointing when I collect out where something is from. For some reason it seems more impressive when I deem it’s recent.

If you’re a upright Simpsons fan, I reflect you’ll agree with me in saying that this was one of the Finest seasons in the show’s ongoing history. And Hey, its only taken 4 years for it to grace the DVD format…about time! The third season of “Gilmore Girls” offers a lot of ups and down for Lorelai and Rory, not to mention aesthetic powerful everybody else at Stars Hollow or Chilton. I was prepared to swear that this was my least approved season of the series because I did not like Jess and I though Rory’s choice to ditch Dean for Jess was the lost of the innocence that made the character so endearing in the first dwelling. Then I took into chronicle that “Gilmore Girls” airs on the WB and from Felicity choosing Ben over Noel and Joey picking Pacey over Dawson I have been nothing but disappointed with the romantic choices of their ingénues. I am constantly amazed with every episode with the magnitude of clever writing, humor, and top of the line acting. Amy Sherman-Palladino is a writer/director of gargantuan talent, and I am collected thrilled to this day that she has given us the fantastic gift of the girls. Season 3 is, in my conception, the best season of the reveal yet. Filled with the lustrous characters and stories that have cemented the series’ reputation, season 3 delivers in all areas. Season 3 contains many of the show’s top best episodes to date. The season starts off with “Those Idle, Hazy, Crazy Days”, a sunny opener. Rory’s college future is first taken on in the third episode, the hysterical “Application Panic”. One of the best episodes is “They Shoot Gilmores, Don’t They? “, a shapely episode that sees Lorelei and Rory participating in the town’s dance-a-thon, but things go poor when the ongoing Dean/Jess rivalry comes to a head. Unbelievable. “Let The Games Originate” is a hilarious elder Gilmore centered episode that puts Rory’s future college plans into expect. The holidays advance into play with the unbelievable “A Deep Fried Korean Thanksgiving”, where the girls are invited to 4 different Thanksgiving dinners. Lorelei’s backstory comes into play in the teriffic “Dear Emily And Richard”, a flashback rich episode that shows a young Lorelei getting pregnant with Rory, and the rift between her and her parents when she goes into labor. Jess’ departure starts in “Say Goodnight, Gracie”, when his dad shows up, and completely leaves in “Here Comes The Son”, which was supposed to spot up his occupy spin-off, which never happened. The season ends with one of the shows’ greatest finales, “Those Are Strings, Pinocchio”, which sees Rory graduate from Chilton. It was a monumental and classic episode to go out on. One of the best. There is plenty more to luxuriate in in these 22 episodes, and those are fair the tip of the iceberg. “Down to Earth” is a bizarre musical sequel to a non-musical film called “Here Comes Mr. Jordan.” It stars, then reigning worship goddess, Rita Hayworth who is miscast (but amusingly so) as Terpsichore. But the Greek ‘muse’ is none ‘amused’ when learning that she and her sisters are to become the kitsch and lampoon of a mortal Broadway musical. Assisted by the comely MC, Mr. Jordan (Roland Culver) and a messenger(Edward Everett Horton), Terpsichore – renamed Kitty Pendleton – comes “down to earth” to play herself in the Broadway indicate and location the characterize straight. This is one of those mindlessly inspiring, pleasant humor bits of business that Hollywood feeble to excel at during its heyday and it’s ably aided by performances from James Gleason, George Macready (of “Gilda” fame) and William Frawley (Fred, from “I Like Lucy”) . The songs aren’t memorable, but they are splashy and inviting and the script ably covers all of the bases with panache and big fun.

The image is crisp and vibrant, with courageous colors, shiny whites and rich, velvet blacks. Dissimilarity levels are estimable. There is some minute brilliant of color in positive scenes, due to the vintage of the print, but nothing that terribly distracts from your visual enjoyment. Digital artifacts are not a plight. Age related artifacts are exhibit but not glaringly so, for a generally calm visual presentation. The audio is MONO but nicely balanced.

BOTTOM LINE: This isn’t one you’ll always remember but its certainly an delightful diminutive romp through musical La-La land, and, with the lush and sparkling Miss Hayworth at hand, its more than easy on the eyes. Add this one to your library.

After the success of “Gilda”, Columbia effect their superstar Rita Hayworth in this musical remake of “Here Comes Mr. Jordan”. It did well at the box office, although in later years it has been panned by many as laughable, far-fetched fare. I personally don’t have a jam with it – it’s not on par with Rita’s earlier musicals, but it is very racy. The color is lush, and Hayworth is breathtakingly radiant, and certainly first-rate to play the goddess of music and dance, Terpsichore (her singing negate is again dubbed by Anita Ellis), and Larry Parks is adorable as the young Broadway producer who wants so desperately to succeed. George Macready, who played Hayworth’s cross spouse in “Gilda” again appears here in a similar role (with comedic undertones) – his office even seems to be the same as in the earlier film. It’s also fun to gaze William Frawley in a exiguous but memorable role.

Parks, sadly, had a short-lived career, as it was virtually destroyed by the McCarthy witch hunts. And the romance is touching and even a dinky tear-inducing. The term “Elegant Goddess” certainly applies to the exquisite Rita. Adele Jergens is also big as the unique dancer in the indicate that Kitty/Terpischore replaces. Not the best Columbia musical, but an off-beat film, and worth watching simply because of the dance sequences, color cinematography and Rita at her most enticing.

17 minutes into “American psycho 2″ I fell victim to crippling stomach misfortune which, quite frankly came as something of a relief. I persisted through the appalling dialogue and commentary, only finding occasional reprieve from the hurt via William Shatners funny acting and random swearing. After 45 minutes I was wondering what kind of exceptional conspiracy or shapely bribery had allowed this film to be in any plan affiliated with American psycho. At the films “conclusion” it became more than distinct that the director had screwed the pooch and would hopefully never work again. As the credits rolled by I found myself lying on the floor, hunched double in inflame and agony.

My tests and examinations at the hospital revealed acute functional dyspepsia precipitated by the rotten soundtrack. I feel one day, with careful tuition and attend, I could rent a DVD again, but it clear won’t be this kind of stomach bending, straight to video pap.

“Prison Atomize” is presented in its current widescreen presentation and looks quite superb here. There were occasional compression artifacts and edge enhancement but nothing too distracting. Overall colors are correct with nice clarity and definition to the images. The surround tracks are venerable quite effectively as well evoking the atmospheric surroundings of the prison.

For those enthusiastic in the extras included with this situation they are quite extensive. This site arrives unbiased in time for the premiere of the second season as well.

A terrific, comprehensive position from fox “Prison Rupture” has been packed with commentary tracks and has three featurettes two of which vary from exceptional to very reliable with one so-so one recycled for this plot. Overall this is a mountainous value and is highly recommended. I suspect that the creators of the series weren’t distinct if the display would last more than one season and, as a result, structured the series so that it could be easily wrapped up if well-known but also allowing an out for a second anecdote arc recognizing that fans would be frustrated if they remained within prison walls beyond the first season of the series.

Most men would do anything to find out of Fox River Penitentiary, but Michael Scofield will do anything to come by in. His brother Lincoln has been sentenced to die for a crime he did not commit, and the only procedure to establish him is from the inside out. Armed with prison blueprints and an impossibly intricate hurry understanding, Michael gets himself incarcerated, and the run against time is on. Now, he’ll need all of the cunning, courageous, and luck he can muster… along with the assistance of some of the prison’s most vile and uncertain felons.

Finally, the premiere season of television’s greatest pleasure (IMO next to 24) is being released in a six-disc package filled with all 22 episodes and tons of extras!

I am very contented with this product. Obviously this is the same dvd as the standard edition. The only incompatibility is there is no episode guide in any of the viridian collections. That is why the tag is lower than the standard version.

This is the kind of respect an anime series should come by. Unprejudiced translate the legend as-is and leave the ‘interpretation’ and reaction to the viewer. Blood and all. [They are ninja you know...] Recognize it subtitled for the beefy achieve!

Don’t catch me unpleasant — I fully understand the financial and practical value of releasing a dub version in order to advance the widest possible market. I understand that there are many people who unbiased don’t care to read the dialog instead of listen to it. And others who unprejudiced don’t want their pictures cluttered up with words.

But there are serene those (like me) who want their anime as conclude to the novel invent as possible; uncut and in the novel language, and with the recent seiyuu (issue actor’s) performances intact. So if that’s what you’re looking for, oh Reader Of This Review, Urge out and acquire this place as soon as you can. The translation is honorable (well… except for “gain it”, *sigh* Okay, okay… I can ignore that), the presentation graceful and you find a nice bonus in the story-board booklet. But most importantly you bag the whole the narrative of Naruto as originally intended… not objective the parts deemed ’safe enough’ for general American audiences.

…I only wish the ONE Part anime could accumulate this same respectful treatment as well. *cries*

2008 EDIT: Yes, this has both a dubbed English track and the Japanese language track with English subtitles. And yes, Funimation does have One Share and promises us an un-cut release later this month. Woo hoo! Let the Pirate vs. Ninja wars really heat up!

This would be a tremendous deal and worth getting if Naruto ended at episode 50. Unfortunatly the series is REALLY long (and ongoing) as well as loaded with slowely paced episodes which makes the box station not worth its label.

As the review before says, it ends lawful at the zabuza fight which is where Naruto actually gets bewitching.

Just assume about it, the best parts in Naruto are around the first 110 episodes, at 40 bucks for 13 episodes thats around 340 dollars! not to mention the series is well over 200 episodes now.

But, the series is fantastic. If you’re a gargantuan fan (like me) maybe you wont mind dishing out that noteworthy money for naruto… However, I managed to find a splendid discount on them which is why im even considering it. It was inevitable that the producers would engage advantage of the ongoing Naruto fad.

I would probably wait off until they release more episodes on DVD and form a savings narrative to afford them when the all near out. That intention you wont be left on any cliff hangers =)
